As some of you may already know, I am in the middle of the 2019 pageant season on the quest for my 4th local crown that will grant me eligibility to compete for the title of Miss Massachusetts. I cannot put into words how thankful for the Miss America Organization for giving me the opportunity to have had the honor of serving my hometown, the Massachusetts collegiate area, as well as Central Mass throughout my years as a titleholder. In addition to appearances, volunteer service, and opportunities for personal growth, the Miss America Organization offers titleholders the chance to be ambassadors and raise funds for local children’s hospitals through the Children’s Miracle Network. The money I raise on behalf of the Children's Miracle Network will help make miracles for children in these hospitals.
I was a volunteered at Boston Children's Hospital from the time that I was junior in high school and up until my sophomore year of college. I am currently completing a 100 hour internship at Massachusetts General Hospital and have had so many chances to play with, talk to, and help some amazing children, infants, and their families. I have a big heart for helping people in hospitals, whether they are a parent who needs encouragement, or a child who needs a reason to smile. I am currently on the path to graduate from Boston University's Wheelock College of Education and Human Development with my undergraduate degree in Art for Education (2019) and my masters in Child Life (2020). A job as a Child Life Specialist will allow me to continue to help children in hospitals while living out my platform, A Creative Cure: Combating Stress with Art.
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals makes sure that the funds you donate stay local which means that your donation helps kids and families right here in our community; at Boston Children's Hospital. I invite you to join me in touching the lives of sick and injured children today, by clicking the "Donate Now" button to make a secure donation. You can also see the impact of your donation by clicking here to view some of the incredible miracle stories from kids we've helped. Thank you so much for your support and for helping me make miracles happen! God bless!Meghan Rubadou
